Chapter 1 of "They snooze you lose"

Chapter 1 was about how to create an awesome power point presentation.  Power point is an excellent tool that was created to make presentations and it is useful to get our points across.  When people started using this tool they didn't stop to realize that every new slide was for free.  Some people add so much information  to one slide that that just makes the viewers get bombarded with so much information that viewers just start tuning out.

Chapter 1 is very informative because it helps presenters on how to create awesome presentations so their viewers do not fall asleep.  Font, size, color, layout, capital letters, and animation all need to be considered when creating a presentation.  Oh, even the audience!  When presenters are creating a presentation, they need to consider the colors being viewed.  Yellow is the first color that stands out.  Then, red is the following color to stand out.  Font should be verdana.  Font size should not be more than 36. Only the first word of the title should be capitalized not every word in the title.  Animation should be kept down to a minimum because it can be very distracting for the audience.

Class Reflection

As I spend these late nights in school trying to figure out what to do and how to do it with two of my classmates and my crying baby by my side, I think that this class takes a lot of my time away from my family.  I think that since, we are all just learning these Web 2.0 tools it makes it harder and takes longer to do.  If we were familiar with all these tools it would be easier, but learning has been a struggle so far and time consuming.  I go back to realizing that this was the reason I joined the MTT, to learn all the new tools out there available for us to use at no cost at all.  I am glad I am learning but my fustration always kicks in first and makes me think it's not worth it.  I really like being able to vent on our blogs. Thanks, Blogger

Technology Integration Discussion Question #1

Technology integration is when students use different types of technology to learn the content areas they need. Students are used to using textbooks and manipulatives, but they enjoy using technology any chance they get. Students learn technology faster and easier than adults, and their attention span is longer when technology is involved. I was amazed when I came back into the classroom and saw that people could actually touch a board and it would change because back then when I was in school all we had was a chalkboard and chalk. Even before learning about the smartboard I had one in my classroom and used it the best I could. The students loved being exposed to it and enjoyed the big screen and getting up and interacting with the smartboard.
